The trail begins at Mont Avic Park's feet, climbing up to Dondena hollow, crossing the bridge on Ayasse creek and reaching the Dondena lodge, built in 1863 as a "hunting home" by King Vittorio Emanuele.
The road goes uphill until Miserin lodge. Just a bit ahead, close to the lake, you can find the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges's sanctuary (our lady of the snows), with its view on the ascent to Champorcher's window.
