The “lago delle Streghe” (lake of the witches) is deep inside a protected area of Alpe Veglia and Alpe Devero natural park, in a bowl surrounded by larches and wild blueberries.
The area surrounding the lake, just like all Devero alp, is characterized by a wide variety of flowers (more than 500 species). With their blooming, across different periods of the year, they make a very mutable panorama with astounding colors.
The trail crosses the Devero plain and goes up to the village of Crampiolo. On the left it crosses the trail that goes up until the lake with its crystal clear waters and unusual color.
