The trail starts from Nova Ponente, crossing wide blooming fields, reaching the woods among dirt roads and trails. It proceeds among pine grooves and goes up until Lavazè pass, an alpine passage that connects Fiemme and D’Ega valleys.
The panorama on top shows the devastating effects of Vaia storm that struck Trentino in October 2018: an hecatomb of trees on the mountain faces and an infinite expanse of logs, carefully stacked, along the dirt roads.
The Meteorological Institute of Berlin has a large quantity of female names, casually given to specific meteorological events. In Europe, a name can be bought. This is why, randomly, the storm that hit these mountains was given its name, after Ms Vaia Jakobs, thanks to her nice brother!
